Skiing
4 Track:
If
you have mobility problems and difficulty balancing particularly
whilst moving, four track may be the best option.
Four Track skiers use two skis and two outriggers. Outriggers
are similar to a forearm crutch with a short ski attached
to the bottom. They slide on the snow as you move helping
you to balance. You may use ski links to hold the tips
of your skis together and sometimes a spacer bar between
your feet. Tethers can also be used. These allow the instructor
to help with turn initiation and speed control if necessary.
