So, you’re thinking of coming to Hintertux?

Supporting you with travel and resort arrangements in Hintertux, booking with Redpoint allows you to focus on your course performance, rather than the hassle of organizing your stay. Redpoint have been supporting BASI members in organizing their Hintertux travel, lift passes and accommodation for over 10 years.

Why book the BASI Package?

Enjoy the convenience of staying near to the ski lift in Hintertux, making it easy to get to where you need to be for your ski course and off-snow meetings.  With breakfasts and evening meals included, you don’t need to think about meal times and can focus your free time on studying, resting and recovering.  Staying together with other BASI students makes it easy to meet up to prepare course work or discuss the day’s events and gives you company at meal times or for a drink in the bar at the end of the day.

Flights from your preferred airport and transfers can be included, so that you don’t need to worry about getting to the resort or finding your way there.

A lift pass is also included for the duration of your stay.

What is included?

The Hintertux Package includes:

  • Hotel Accommodation with buffet breakfasts and four course evening meals, usually sharing with another BASI student, or it is possible to pay a single supplement to have your own room.
  • Lift passes starting the day after you arrive to the day before you depart.
  • Airport transfers to and from Munich airport when arriving at our regular transfer times.

Add to the package:

  • We can also quote you for flights departing from your preferred UK airport to match the package on request.
  • Let us know whether you will be bringing your own skis, so that we can quote you for the ski carriage.

Not included:

  • The package does not include your BASI course fees, which must be booked directly with BASI.
  • Travel Insurance
  • Ski Hire

Where do we stay?

Stay at the four star Hotel Der Rindererhof, ideally located next to the ski lift in Hintertux.  Due to it’s convenient location, the hotel is often used as a meeting point for off-snow meetings.  With comfortable rooms that can be shared as a twin and some single rooms to choose from, the hotel provides a comfortable and convenient base for your stay.  Buffet breakfasts and buffet-style or four-course evening meals are included and BASI students are seated together in the restaurant.

Alternatively, the four star Thermal Badhotel Kirchler is situated in Hintertux village only a 10 minute walk to the ski lift and one stop on the ski bus.  The hotel offers great spa facilities and a swimming pool as well as having comfortable rooms to share as twins or take as a single.  Buffet breakfasts and four course evening meals are included, seated together with the BASI Students group.

BASI Hintertux – Package Information

The BASI Hintertux Package includes:

  • Accommodation at the four star Hotel Der Rindererhof sharing a twin room
  • Return Munich airport transfers when travelling at our regular transfer times
  • Lift pass to match the duration of your stay

Add to the package:

  • Add flights from your preferred UK airport
  • Upgrade to single occupancy rather than sharing a room
  • Amend your transfers to suit your arrival time, or to arrive at a different airport (such as Innsbruck or Salzburg)

Not included:

  • Your BASI course fees. Please ensure that you book your course place directly with BASI before arranging your package with us
  • Travel Insurance.  It is essential that you take out a travel insurance policy that suits your needs.  BASI offer a policy for members which may suit you.

BASI Hintertux – Hotels

Stay at the four star Hotel Der Rindererhof, ideally located next to the ski lift in Hintertux.  Due to it’s convenient location, the hotel is often used as a meeting point for off-snow meetings.  With comfortable rooms that can be shared as a twin and some single rooms to choose from, the hotel provides a comfortable and convenient base for your stay.  Buffet breakfasts and buffet-style or four-course evening meals are included and BASI students are seated together in the restaurant.  The hotel facilities include a ski room with lockers and benches for ski servicing, a relaxation area with sauna and steam rooms, as well as a cosy bar and games room with pool table.

Alternatively, the four star Thermal Badhotel Kirchler is situated in Hintertux village only a 10 minute walk to the ski lift and one stop on the ski bus.  The hotel offers great spa facilities and a swimming pool as well as having comfortable rooms to share as twins or take as a single.  Buffet breakfasts and four course evening meals are included.  Other facilities include a ski and boot room as well as a separate ski servicing room with benches.

BASI Hintertux – Airport Transfers

Airport transfers to and from Munich airport to Hintertux are included in the package when arriving and departing at the regular transfer times, which are as follows:

Arriving on the 14th , 15th , 21st , 22nd , 28th or 29th April – The transfer will depart from Munich airport at 5.30pm.  (Suitable for flights scheduled to land in Munich at 4.30 pm or earlier).

Returning on the 21st, 22nd, 28th, 29th April or 5th May – The transfer will arrive back at Munich airport at around 11 am.  (Suitable for flights departing from Munich at 12.50 or later).

Alternative transfer times which incur a supplement of £25:

Arriving on the 14th , 15th , 21st , 22nd , 28th or 29th April – The transfer will depart Munich airport at 11.30 am (suitable for flights scheduled to land at 10.30 or earlier)

Returning on the 21st, 22nd, 28th, 29th April or 5th May – Arriving back in Munich at around 5 pm (for flight scheduled to depart after 7 pm).

Transfers can be arranged to match flights arriving or departing Munich airport at other times, please let us know your travel plans and we can quote you for transfers to match.

Transfers to and from Innsbruck airport or Salzburg airport may also be possible subject to availability.

 

 

 

BASI Hintertux – Flights

Flights can be added to your Hintertux package.  Let us know your preferred departure airport and we will add flights to your quote.

Flights are usually to Munich airport (MUC), although we do sometimes quote flights to Innsbruck airport (INN) and may occasionally quote flights to Salzburg (SZG).  Transfer times from Munich are approx. 2.5 hours, from Innsbruck approx. 1.5 hour and from Salzburg approx. 3 hours.  Transfers are usually by minibus, with up to 8 people sharing the transfer, although very occasionally we do use a coach at times when a lot of people have booked the same flights.

If you prefer to make your own travel arrangements, let us know your travel plans and we can tailor your package to suit your individual travel needs.

BASI Hintertux – Lift Passes

A Hintertux Lift Pass is included in your Hintertux package  and will usually start on the day after you arrive and finish the day before you depart.  If you would like to ski on your departure day then please make sure you check your quote to show the extra day.  If you are departing on the Friday night, please double check to make sure we have quoted you for a lift pass that includes the Friday.

Collect your lift pass from the Redpoint Representative in resort, either at the BASI meeting at the hotel on the Sunday evening, or on the Monday morning at the BASI meeting point outside the gondola station in Hintertux.  If you are arriving at other times, your lift pass will be left at the Hotel Der Rindererhof reception for your to collect.

The lift pass usually only covers the Hintertux ski area, as it is usually out of season for the other resorts.  If you are travelling within the regular ski season, it may cover the whole Ziller Valley, please check with us when ordering your lift pass.

Is it possible to just buy a lift pass from you (if I find my own accommodation)? 2017-02-28T16:37:30+00:00

Please pre-book your lift pass with us at least a week before you need it.

How do I get a reduced rate pass? 2017-02-28T16:34:50+00:00

The lift company only gives reductions for groups when the group books and pays for all passes together, so by buying your lift pass through Redpoint you will benefit from the group discount. If you book your own pass individually the lift company will not give the discount unless you have an ISIA Instructor Card.

No, you do not need a photograph for your lift pass.

You will be given your lift pass either by the driver of your transfer or by the Redpoint representative in resort. If you do not see our rep in resort, then ask at the hotel reception, as it may be left with the receptionist for you to collect.

The hotels provide buffet breakfasts and evening meals, which are either buffet-style or a fixed menu. Please mention any special dietary needs to us when making your booking, so that we can notify the hotel in advance of your arrival.

How far is the hotel from the ski lift? – Is it easy to get to the lift in the mornings? 2017-02-28T16:27:08+00:00

The Thermal Badhotel Kirchler is a couple of minutes on the ski bus, which drops you directly outside the ski lift station, or approx. 10 minutes walk.

Is it possible to book a single room if I am prepared to pay extra for one? 2017-02-28T16:23:43+00:00

There are a limited number of single rooms available at a supplement, which are subject to availability.  Please request one when asking for your quote.

I am bringing my own skis, do I have to notify Redpoint? 2017-02-28T16:17:40+00:00

Yes, please let us know if you are bringing oversize luggage, as our transfers are often by minibus and large ski or snowboard bags may not fit on the transfer if we are not pre-warned.

I am bringing my own skis, do I have to notify the airline about ski carriage and will I have to pay extra for this? 2017-02-28T16:16:40+00:00

If we book your flights for you, we will do this on your behalf, so please mention it at time of booking. It depends on the airline you are travelling with as to whether there is an additional charge or not. Make sure you notify us at time of booking if we are booking flights for you, we can then advise you of the carriage charges. If you book your own flights, you must check direct with the airline at time of booking.

I have booked my flight through Redpoint. Will I receive a flight ticket in the post? 2017-02-28T16:15:40+00:00

No, you will receive details of the flight, airline and a booking reference code on your booking confirmation.  You will then be able to check in online directly with the airline, please read the check-in instructions which will be on your booking confirmation and depend upon which airline your flight is booked with.

Is it possible to book a transfer only with Redpoint (I prefer to arrange my own accommodation)? 2017-02-28T16:14:42+00:00

If there are spaces left over on our transfers, you can book a seat, please ask for a quote. Note that you must tell us your flight number, departure and arrival times, the name of your departure airport, the name and address of where you are staying, or the agreed drop off/ pick up point.

Is it possible to make my own way to Hintertux? 2017-02-28T16:13:34+00:00

It is possible to get to Hintertux using public transport. You can take a train from Munich to Jenbach (with 1 change at Munich Ost), then the “Zillertalbahn” train or bus from Jenbach to Mayrhofen, then a bus from Mayrhofen train station up to Hintertux. Note that buses and trains only run during the day.

Can you provide a transfer from a different airport? 2017-02-28T16:12:06+00:00

The transfers included in the package are from Munich airport. If you choose to fly into Innsbruck or Salzburg, we can provide a direct airport transfer at a supplement, so please ask for a quote.  Transfers from Jenbach train station are sometimes possible, where you may be able to join a passing Redpoint transfer. Please call us to find out what time we could pick you up in Jenbach.

How will I know where to meet the transfer bus at the airport? 2017-02-28T16:05:40+00:00

We will notify you approximately 1 week before your departure date with the meeting point and departure time from the airport. For your return transfer details, look out for the information sheet at reception in the hotel, which will show the return transfer times and meeting points. (Please make sure we have a contact telephone number which you have  with you whilst in resort so that we can contact you with an update if needed).

How long is the transfer from Munich airport to Hintertux? 2017-02-28T16:06:45+00:00

The journey usually takes approximately 2.5 hours.
