New package launched for the skiers who have reached skills stalemate
Redpoint Holidays have launched a new package to help experienced skiers who feel that they have reached stalemate in developing their skiing skills. Whilst famous ski resorts such as Chamonix or St. Anton are renowned for their extensive, challenging off-piste areas, the reality is that the majority of skiers who visit during the season aren’t actually proficient enough to ski the most exciting and challenging slopes.

To solve this problem, Redpoint have devised a new package of ‘All Terrain Weeks’ specifically designed for skiers who have reached a plateau in their skiing. The package includes ski instruction from British instructors in groups of up to 4 people with video training and evening seminars on mountain safety, avalanche awareness and equipment.

”Although many people come skiing once or twice a year, they don’t necessarily improve. Often, once they can get down without falling over too many times, people decide they can manage alone,” explains Greg xx Co-director of Redpoint Holidays. “Alternatively, they book ski lessons and end up in a foreign ski school group with an instructor that they don’t understand, and end up feeling that they haven’t learnt anything. Understandably, they don’t go back again.”

Greg, who has 15 years experience teaching skiing, believes that the majority of skiers maintain an adequate standard, but struggle when the pistes aren’t in perfect condition.
“People comment on the condition of the snow, when actually the snow is great – it’s often their technique that is letting them down” says Greg. “Most skiers stay at this level, being able to ski when the pistes have just been groomed, but can’t cope when conditions change. I have taught a lot of “advanced” skiers who struggle with the basic skills needed to ski in a more challenging environment. Often after only a few hours of lessons the difference is remarkable. Teaching these skiers is very rewarding, as you see them regain their enthusiasm - once they get the feeling for it, you can’t stop them!”

The All Terrain Weeks include: Four-star Hotel Accommodation with Half Board, Instruction in small groups of up to 4 people, Video Training and Evening seminars on Mountain Safety, Avalanche awareness and Equipment, for £489.
