Redpoint holidays
today announced the launch of their “Anniversary Ski Challenge”
inviting returning guests and newcomers alike to put their skiing
skills to the test in this demanding trial. The event has been organised
by the midlands based company to celebrate 10 successful years specialising
in the ski business.
The Ziller Valley in Austria, used by Redpoint as their exclusive
base, has been selected as the location for the challenge. Participants
will be required to ski all 570km of the pistes that are included
on the Superzillertal Lift Pass in just one week. Starting from “Spieljoch”,
the first ski area in the valley, past Mayrhofen on to the Hintertux
Glacier - and all the resorts in between. “We felt that this
challenge would be a fitting way to celebrate our tenth anniversary,”
explains Nina Hasinski, Co-Director of Redpoint. “We wanted
to make it tough – but accessible to skiers of different abilities
- so we have also built in three different levels of expertise.”
The blue team will ski all 152km of blue runs in the valley, the red
team will ski all 346km of red runs as well as the blue runs and the
black team will attempt to ski it all.
The aim of the challenge is to ensure that no piste is left unskiied
and no lift is taken twice, so each team will be led by a Redpoint
guide, who will be responsible for route-finding and recording the
path taken. ”It will be great fun and the good thing is that
anybody can join in, as long as they can ski the blue runs,”
said Nina. “Having said that, it won’t be easy. Our regular
guests are already debating whether it will be possible for the black
team to ski everything in a week – many of our regulars don’t
think it’s possible, but they still want to give it a try!”
The Anniversary Challenge Week includes flights, transfers, half board
in a four star hotel, lift pass, packed lunches, guiding, transportation
and the last-night party, all for a special “10-year Anniversary”
price of £699. Returning guests receive up to 15% discount as
a thank you for helping make Redpoint the ski company that it is today.
In addition, everybody who enters will be given a free Redpoint Challenge
t-shirt.
